Welcome!

NeuroCure is a Cluster of Excellence focusing upon neurosciences, established at Charité ‑ Universitätsmedizin Berlin in the framework of the Excellence Initiatives funded by the German federal and state governments.

This interdisciplinary research alliance focuses upon the translation of scientific findings from fundamental research into clinical application. The proven expertise of the partners from within and outside the universities contributes to the development of effective therapies for neurological diseases such as stroke, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy, with a better understanding of the disease mechanisms.

In addition to Charité, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Freie Universität Berlin, the Max-Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), the Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP) and the Deutsche Rheuma-Forschungszentrum (DRFZ) are partners of NeuroCure.

The structural aim of NeuroCure is the development and strengthening of the neuroscientific site. This is being achieved both through better networking of the ongoing research activities and through the establishing of new professorships and junior research groups in Berlin.
